Dyed Cotton Sweater Knit - Cobblestone (by the half yard)
For quite some time I’ve been receiving requests for colors in cottons beyond the natural, color grown cottons I currently carry. I'm so very happy to at last present Cobblestone in three colors. This sweater fabric is knitted with amazingly soft, highest quality, extra long staple cotton yarn, produced in the United States under the trademarked name Supima. The yarn is not mercerized. The fabric was knitted in New Jersey, US.
Cobblestone is full of texture with a hand knitted look and feel. It’s weight makes it an excellent transition fabric from winter through spring and for cool summer evenings. I imagine the fabric sewn into a pullover or cardigan for man, woman, child, or baby.
And if you like your sweater fabrics with a serving of ribs, I’ve got rib bands, too, in matching colors. Each band measures 3 inches from the finished bottom edge. Relaxed, the band is deceiving at 18 inches across the ribs, but it has a soft, easy stretch with the workable size comfortably stretching to approximately 27 inches (69 cm) without rib distortion. (For 40-inch [102 cm] hips, two rib bands will be enough for front and back hem bands and two sleeve cuffs.)
Cobblestone sweater knit is colorfast and approximately 44 inches (112 cm) wide with a 25% horizontal stretch. It weighs about 13.5 oz/sq yd (458 gsm). Always prepare your fabric before cutting. Zigzag or overlock cut edges, then launder your fabric with the same method you'll use for your finished garment.
Cobblestone is sold by the HALF YARD. With each half yard, you can purchase a rib band at a discount. Extra bands can be purchased here, if needed. After adding your selection to cart, enter the number of half yard lengths (with or without rib band) you require, and update your total by clicking outside the box. Fabric of the same color and style will be delivered in one continuous piece. Rib bands are separate. If weight, hand, color, and stretch are important to your project, please order cotton swatches "G" through “I” first. Swatches for rib bands are not available.
