Saratoga Rib is a soft cotton sweater knit with beautiful drape and a hand knitted look and feel. The cotton was grown, ginned, spun, and dyed in Georgia (US) and knitted in New Jersey. The vibrant color was produced with fiber reactive dye and is colorfast. (See this sweater knit in a natural white cotton and dyed blue jay.)
This textured knit can be sewn into a sophisticated or casual sweater depending on the sewing pattern you choose. It's perfect for either a pullover or a cardigan. Matching rib band trim is also available.
Before cutting and sewing, always prepare your fabric by laundering it with the method you'll use to launder your finished garment. (Protect raw edges first with a zigzag or overlock stitch.) Hand or machine wash on gentle in either warm or cold water. Do not bleach. Lay fabric or finished garment flat to air dry. You may also tumble dry gently. Expect 10% - 15% shrinkage in length, if tumble dried. Your results may vary.
This fabric is approximately 56 inches (142 cm) wide. It weighs approximately 9 oz/sq yd (305 gsm).
Saratoga Rib is sold by the HALF YARD (0.457 meter). Fabric of the same color and style will be delivered in one continuous piece.
If weight, hand, color, and stretch are important to your project, please order a swatch first.
